My mother will probably out live me, because of obesity.

I think skinny was what we thought was normal when I was a teenager, blokes have definitely changed but generally speaking they look like they carry more muscle than they did when I was younger

Hawke, growing up in early adulthood we always laughed between us by saying Mum would out live us all, it's looking a bit grim, my third Brother has today had a liver biopsy for pancreatic and liver cancer, he has a poor prognosis,  this will leave my eldest Brother and myself.

My grandma was 101 when she died, grandad was 95 and my mum is still going strong at 84. I'm hoping the genetics will fight off the lifestyle

Perhaps it has something to do with the way people of my generation have lived in their younger days? Throughout the war years there was not much food. No artificial this and that, and fruit and vegetables were grown without chemical fertilizers or insecticides. When we were thirsty we drank water, not softdrink or Coca Cola. Even after the war there was no McDonalds, no KFC, no pizza parlors for a very long time. The biggest treat was Fridays fish and chips. Later we all ate butter not margarine, and mother cooked with dripping. We ate the fat of the meat, the crispy skin of the roast chicken and had mixed grills for breakfast. Most of us worked physically hard, or at least had to walk a long way to work and the shops. Not everyone had a car or handy public transport.

Today everything we eat and drink is full of poisons. Cancers, heart deseases, diabetes and other ailments have increased rapidly. They tell us to eat healthy, but what is healthy today?

The only way we can turn things around is to grow our own food without pesticides, artificial fertilizers and genetically altered food that just looks good, but tastes of nothing. But this is not possible for the majority of the population.

I have already lost two sons, and like Hawk said; "No parent should have to live through that."

In the meantime all Chemical Manufactoring Companies are getting richer and richer, and so do the people who want to tell us how to live better.
