People arriving with fake passports & visas is certainly much more worrying than people on boats. But that is the situation created by media, with hatred towards people arriving on boats whipped up by shock jocks, and the result is vast amount of money wasted on dealing with this handful of people. Rudd was right abolishing the off-shore processing; it is so much more expensive than bringing people here and releasing them into community as soon as possible. It was very unfortunate that Rudd's policy coincided with the massacre in Shri Lanka, and other events around the world, with great increase of refugees in following years.

It may help achieve Tony Abbott's promise on boats?
Dr Natalegawa also disclosed that Ms Bishop had offered to co-operate with Indonesia "to handle this issue 'behind the scenes' as well as 'quietly' to avoid over-publicity having a negative impact on those measures".

If it isn't illegal to seek asylum by boat at what point do asylum seeker boat organisers become illegal smugglers rather than say humanitarians?
Back to WWII again....did the people who helped the persecuted get fake id's and escape ...commit a crime by doing so?
