People With Dogs & No Grass in Back Yard

We decided to buy a house with no grass in the backyard.  Completely forgot about where our fur baby would do her business. Anyway we have been looking at different options from a pet mat, to  a patch of artificial grass or taking out some pavers and putting real grass down.

Anyone else experienced this problem and what did you do?

Our dog survived for 13 years with no grass in the backyard.  We did have a strip of soil along the back fence with a few shrubs in it but he chose to use the concrete near the strip of soil.   It was very easy to scoop the droppings into the soil and bury them and a quick squirt with the hose occasionally kept the concrete from being smelly.

I must admit though that he only knew the concrete from day one....he was not used to grass at all.

OK thanks for your answers. Might be an idea to start her on a better diet. One small meal a day and she poops heaps. Also more walks.

my daughter has an artificial grass area in her paved courtyard, its edged with drain grate thingy. fine in theory but the pups chew the artificial grass and poor robert boy pup eats everything like his chew resistant bedding and nearly died

i have pavers at the back and small courtyard at the front and am looking at growing a meter sq patch of real grass for my sensational puppy chihuahua bella

The only grass we have is artificial and like another poster we have a soil only area set aside

for our furbaby
