Looking for pros and cons if anyone has experience with this model. I am looking to buy a 2008 model for my newly licensed 18 year old daughter.

Are servicing/parts expensive?

Can get one with around 140,000ks for 7500.

& have you got any other hatch models in mind ? (if it's got to be euro, i'm thinking VW Golf)

they're a rebadged german opel. would have to be 2008 onwards, previous models were very ordinary in the reliability stakes

a better option compared to the pewjoe, but i think one can do better

Not necessarily a Euro. Love the Golf but read some reviews and some weren't favourable, so unsure.

Euro cars = expensive parts and service right??

Good fuel economy is a must, as is a good ANCAP rating. Really appreciate you both taking the time to impart your wisdom! 🙂

that used to be the case for european cars, but not anymore, parts and service (late models) costs pretty much the same as any other brand these days.

for an excellent all-rounder that ticks all the boxes - toyota corolla,..doesnt matter what year, just choose one that you can afford! 

(low mileage, service history, never damaged, you get the drift)

what about the honda Jazz? there was one model that had dodgey something or other but they fixed it in the next model which was around 2009 I think

or corollas are good
