Plane missing with 236 people on board

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-03-08/malaysia-airlines-lost-contact-with-plane/5307888

Malaysia Airlines says one of its planes has gone missing on the way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.

A statement from the airline says flight MH370 lost contact with air traffic controllers at 2:40am local time, just over two hours into the flight.

The plane, a Boeing 777-200, left Kuala Lumpur at 12:41am on Saturday, and had been due to arrive in Beijing at 6:30am local time.

The company says the plane was carrying 227 passengers, including two infants, and 12 crew members.

The airline says it is contacting the next-of-kin of all passengers and crew, which includes people of 13 different nationalities.

In a statement on the airline's website, group chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the airline was working with authorities to locate the aircraft.

"Focus of the airline is to work with the emergency responders and authorities and mobilise its full support," the statement said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected passengers and crew and their family members."

The airline says it will provide regular updates on its website.

The ABC understand Malaysia Airlines will hold a press conference on the incident shortly.

wow.

March 28, 2014

News report:

"...The new "credible lead" on a possible crash site, almost three weeks to the day since the plane carrying 239 people disappeared on March 8, also came with a warning from Malaysia Airlines of the effect on the families of rumours and speculation about the flight's fate.

"Whilst we understand that there will inevitably be speculation during this period, we do ask people to bear in mind the effect this has on the families of all those on board," the airline's group chief executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said.

"Their anguish and distress increases with each passing day, with each fresh rumour, and with each false or misleading report."

Maybe 'they' should be more mindful of being truthful with regards to each press release then.

"

TRACKING THE UNTRACKABLE

Everything on this planet is subject to what is called “Layered ISR.” ISR stands for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance. By “layered” we refer to satellites, starting with geosynchronous orbit down to LEO, or “Low Earth Orbit.”

These satellites monitor the entire electromagnetic spectrum and include SAR (Synthetic Aperture Capability). Everything that moves, on land or sea, under the sea, even underground, is watched and listened to.

Below this are nano-sensors that are sustained in the upper atmosphere. I won’t even begin to explain what these do but their function is “hyperspatial” rather than “hyperspectral.”When we talk “hyperspatial” we make physicists cringe.

Everything below this is watched, monitored or sensed. You have to realize that we don’t really need radar. Our entire atmosphere is an electromagnetic soup, a “sea” as it were of Wi-Fi signals, AM radio, particle emissions, a million sources, all reflected, slowed, absorbed or amplified, painting a very complete picture of anything that moves. All is sensed, recorded, examined by complex algorithms for anomalous behaviors that represent “threats.”

to sheheffalump:

as of 30th March 2014:....

"Satellites and aircraft have spotted numerous floating objects, but none have been confirmed as wreckage from the plane."

and...

.............."The search for missing flight MH 370 has delivered more reported sightings of possible debris..."

In this day of high tech where satellites can take a detailed pic showing writing on surface of a standard cricket bat......and search planes can fly 250m-500m over the ocean surface to take a closer 'look'/photos......

tis a shame that 'they' have only been given a potato for taking photos of potential debris with.

And there. in a nutshell we have it - the full depth of the scientific argument you are putting forward.

"Satellites and aircraft have spotted numerous floating objects, but none have been confirmed as wreckage from the plane."

However compelling the evidence may be ,basic common sense dictates that they will not be confirmed one way or another until they have been retrieved and examined.

And in fact one or two pieces (out of 300 or so already spotted)  have been retrieved and confirmed as NOT being from the plane.

Does it ever concern you P007 that  not only do you  C&P material that  you have absolutely no idea what the  material refers to, but more often that not it is as authoritative as your posts, and quite often as nutty.

"These satellites monitor the entire electromagnetic spectrum and include SAR (Synthetic Aperture Capability). Everything that moves, on land or sea, under the sea, even underground, is watched and listened to."

Absolute nonsense. 95% of the oceans are unexplored,  and as for being listened underwater  you still have not explained why you think a 37.5Khz  USB is so easy to find.

We have good eyesight and can differentiate (see) a matchstick lying on the ground, now try and find that matchstick in a football field. Then remember  my earlier post concerning a search for a crashed Learjet in the USA  where its position was known to within  a 15 mile radius:

After a search of almost three years, a broken Learjet airplane was  found in New Hampshire , ending  the largest/longest search in New Hampshire .history. It was an accidental discovery.

It does help in a debate to understand  some of the "information in others  links.

The code named Kennan "Keyhole-class" (KH) reconnaissance satellites have been orbiting the Earth for more than 30 years. They are typically used to take overhead photos for military missions. The big question for a lot of people is: "What can they see?"

but it is known that there are several of these overhead at any given time. They have an imaging resolution of 5-6 inches, which means they can see something 5 inches or larger on the ground.

so makes me wonder why 'they' are taking pics with one of these:

.........and then sending in ships apparently only equipped with radar  to locate 'credible' debris?

Hi She el. I've been wondering something.

I thinks it's funny, but at the same time mean that paintsahuffing Man Wink  calls you sheheffalump. I laugh at the part where you respond to being addressed that way, but then think what if it hurts your feelings.

I know you'll say it don't....but I still think it's mean.

Hi Richo. They do, and they also have deep feelings.

It's something I wonder whenever I see it.

BTW...I saw the visitor you had on your thread....I'm wondering what he said too. (PM it if you saw it, lol)
