Apart from her physical disability, a teenaged girl weilding a cricket bat is not exactly in control.
How would you suggest the police handle the situation when she is smashing the place up?
Obviously the school considered her a danger to others or they would not have suspended her for 5 days.

we dont know how disabled she was
her mothers description (the only on we have) implies she was very disabled.
knocking things down with a cricket bat?
was it a full size wooden bat or a kids plastic toy bat?
can police not just 'back off' and make her feel safe until her mum can get there?
going by past experience police are more likely to go charging in than keeping a calm head and backing off.

As far as cerebral palsy goes (which ranges from mild tics to vegetative) she is on the low end of the spectrum if she can walk.
If she's going to a mainstream school, there is unlikely to be any significant intellectual disability. Like many, I suspect she was playing the disability card. Happens a lot.
Edit: Her mother was going on about seizures. Which didn't happen, as she wouldn't be swinging anything. So I don't rate the mother (who wasn't there) as a reliable source.

A 16 year old girl in a mainstream school is unlikely to be playing with a child's plastic cricket bat.
If the school staff could not handle her and needed to call the police it suggests she was way out of control.

nothing new here, we often see different rules for those employed to enforce laws when charged with breaking those laws to how we mortals are treated.
and with holding from the public information the public has a right to know.

so the warrant was no good but they get to keep the evidence they stole?
