I read that the thermomix now comes with an attachment you insert and it peels potatoes, apples, what have you. I only have a TM5, not the 6 so I don't know if it works with the 5 anyway.
But on reflection, I rarely have a lot of potatoes to peel in any case and a peeler is much easier to wash than a whole bowl, blade and cover.
I occasionally watch those TV sales channels and about a year or so ago was totally taken by a microwave item that grilled food. The demo showed bacon and eggs, steak, you name it.
I'm never one to buy something straight off so I watched those demos over several weeks before giving in and ordering one.
I read the instructions (I am a bit OCD that way) and followed them to the absolute letter and the bacon & eggs were great, the hamburgers were delicious. I was rapt.
Then on the 3rd or 4th use, I could smell singeing and the whole unit was warping and melting with flames licking the edges. I returned for a full refund but it turned me off some of those TV sales site purchases.☹️
