Prank DJ Will Return To Air

I don't often get to read the Sunday Paper, only when I'm wrapping the vege peels in it of a morning. Here's a little snippet I spotted this morning:

"Radio DJ Mel Greig will reportedly return to work at 2DayFM after being taken off the air over the royal prank call that had tragic consequences.

Greig confirmed her return to News Limited when spotted outside a Sydney pub on Saturday but didn't say what her role would be.

"Someone from the station will be in contact with News Limited when I return," Greig told the reporter.

"I'm not supposed to say anything. I'm so sorry."

Her former on-air partner Michael Christian quietly returned to the airwaves last month.

He's presenting the 10am to noon shift on the Southern Cross Austereo station FoxFM.

Greig and Christian called the London hospital where Prince William's pregnant wife Catherine was being treated for morning sickness.

The pair were put through to her ward by nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who took her own life when the hoax was widely publicised in the British media.

The Indian-born nurse was found dead in her lodgings near King Edward VII Hospital in central London on December 7."

I'm happy they've been able to pick themselves and move on with their careers, and that Austereo has stood by them.

In the end of that case I actualy thought it had all been blown out of all proportion and  the family were prob very lucky to be getting so much money from 2dayfm

.It was a very silly prank when you actualy heard it back and the end was very sad but it seemed when all revealed that the nurse involved was very unstable to start with I ended up feeling very sorry forthe Djs who seemed to be getting blamed unfairly in the end .Having said that I guess its a lesson that you never know how delicate someone may be even over a minor thing

It was tragic watching the fallout over this prank (especially with Grieg who seemed very distraught) but she still had her finger on the trigger that killed, or at least contributed, to this woman's death. It was a sad affair but to me it's like using great PR to turn our sympathies toward the drunk driver at the expense of the now dead victim.
