Prayers and well wishes for my neice "PLEASE"

I won't post her name or her picture as I have a few on this laptop. This happened some time ago and apperantly no one had the curtiocy to tell me until today when I asked my dad to pass my number along to her and have her call me. She has a little boy, probibly a year and a half years old by now.

Dad told me this, she is in a mental area of a hospital with a black herion addiction. I don't know what herion is but it sounds pretty nasty. I just hate this to no end. When she was little, seems like just the other day to me.. she ran around the house telling everyone to

"say no to drums" (drums being drugs) "no drums, no !" she would yell.

she didn't talk well enough at that time, but it was halirious. I wish she would have taken her own advice. She is the one I spoke of in another topic who asked me if she could pet my cat, afraid it would bite or attack her. I wanted, and still want good things for her, but being my sister's kid, in a really messed up family, I really shouldn't be surprized. I doubt theres anything I can do, dad don't even want me trying to visit her. All I can do is just pray she gets better, takes her boy back away from my sister before that boy's life gets ruined too and sets off on her own. She is not really like that, to fall into this? she is smart and has common sense, she has so much going for her, to be messin with drugs like this? There has to be something fishy goin on. My sister is the kind of person who would take the boy away and leave her daughter twisting in the wind. If she can.

Best wishes Joanie, addiction is a hard thing for people who care about the addict. Do a bit of research on the net regarding what heroin is, and black tar heroin, how it affects the user and how you can be supportive (and be supported).

Thank you both, forgot to mention, she is in her early 20s, so she is of age. I hope everything, every encounter is being recorded and documented. I still have a funny feeling what dad is being told by my sister of this is not entirely true. But Dad takes it as fact. I'm not so quick to believe. But will allow for the possibility of this being true.

This kind of puts it all in perspective, always many worse off than you think you are, be on hand for her, if she reaches out you will be ready.
