Proof of halal scam

That is utterly absurd. I can't prove that the money I spend in my local Italian restaurant isn't going to fund the Mafia, but I don't feel obliged to stand up in puvblic and warn the whole of Australia about the possibility.

Seriously I can't believe this discussion is still happening.

I went to woollies today and not one product I picked up had halal certified sticker on it. And trust me I was curious to find ONE after all this fuss on CS.

I'll admit the woolies I went to wasn't in a high muslim area so perhaps my local woollies has a larger selection (seeing as I live in the 2nd or 3rd largest muslim demographic) but again, I've never picked up a single product with a certification sticker.

And I have just checked my pantry to see if there is any halal lurking in there. Nope. Nothing.

After UFOs grand statement about 7-11 pies having a sticker on them, I have also been scanning the shelves of 7-11. What have I found? Nothing!

So perhaps there ARE  a handful of supermarkets in each state who sell an insignificant amount of certified product. If so, how much revenue can that possibly generate for a halal certification company?More pertinent how much profit does it generate that can then be sent off somewhere to fund some terrorist group? Particularly as we have already established that the fees run into the low hundreds instead of the reported tens of thousands?

This is such a non-issue for Australian products that it would be laughable if it wasn't such a low attack on people trying to lead a normal life in this counrty.

lol you both seem so dedicated to your cause. good on youse!

some 7-11 stores do have a specialty range which

includes kosher so chances are they also sell halal.

(did you see any kosher labels during your inspections?)

leggo's is owned by Simplot. so maybe all their products are halal, that';s a whole lot of food products you're going to have to boycott then

. American owned company but employs lots of Austrealian staff.

what about petrol?? I think if you're really serious about boycotting anything that 'could" fund terrorism,. petrol is the most likely product . So everyone will have to stop buying petrol too
