Here are some NBN speed results conducted within 30 seconds of each other on the same connection and PC
As you can see by the bar graph, what I have always stated and continue to state is that regardless of the speed of your NBN connection the overall data transfer speed will only be as slow as the slowest link in the data transmission chain.
The test was undertaken on an NBN fixed wireless connection with an upper limit of 25Mbps.
Tokyo rates high on the speed chart and all the destinations were major cities.
The global average is around 15 Mbps
All you vocal NBN speed freaks read it and weep

How does that work?

not sure, it came with Windows 8.1 and I just downloaded the apps. Movies, music, games, all sorts of stuff.
plus wouldn't you tube be audio CD's and movies too?
but I'm curious about this whole cloud storage thing, that got anything to do with the NBN etc?
I'm too much of a scardy cat to trust my stuff stored in cyberspace, it is too unstable and unreliable, although I suspect that in countries where internet itself is more reliable, it'd be ok? So maybe that's got something to do with the cloud.
I've discovered benefits in being able to workm between apple and microsoft proigrams, but that's about all I caN WORK OUT THAT MAKES IT BETTER THAN A USB (*sorry about the caps)

I youtube movies or videos.
I use a DVD player for DVDs, or the computer DVD player.
I don't get what windows 8 has got to do with watching DVDs either. Nobody needs to be online to watch DVDs or listen to CDs.
I use cloud storage. It's not an unstable or unreliable storage solution.
Cloud storage is nothing to do with the NBN, except the NBN made it easier and faster to upload files.

on the tile screen of windows 8, there are all these apps you can get, which then lets you watch movies, listen to music, play games etc, right when you want, just as if you had the DVD/CD. You don't have to wait till it comes on at a set time on the TV iykwim.
I dunno freaks, you asked if anyone watched DVD's or listened to music on line, I said I did. That's all.
so if you're internet connection breaks/drops out, how do you access the cloud? at least on a USB stick or EHD, you have the documents there with you iykwim. (or your own compouter hqrd drive too)...
it's ok, it took me years to trust eftpos too LOL. I just belong in a different generation where everytyhing was hard copies and your pay was real money that you could touch LOL

I asked who watches DVDs or listens to audio CDs online. I didn't ask who watches movies and listens to music.
It seemed rather odd that someone thinks we watch DVDs or listen to CDs on the internet.
My internet doesn't break down or drop out so cloud access is easy. If I'm away from the fixed service I use mobile. I can easily access all stored files on all devices anywhere at any time. Most files are also on the computers.
I don't think it's about a generation thing, especially given that I'm older than you 😄 😄
