Putting Wings On Pigs

On Saturday afternoon Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28  fired four rounds at officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The officers, who were hit in head, were assigned from their normal downtown Brooklyn beat to an area of the borough with a high crime rate, authorities said.

New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton said the officers were shot "with no warning, no provocation."

Witnesses saw Brinsley walk to the car and assume what they described as a shooting stance.

"They were, quite simply, assassinated," Bratton said.

At a nearby subway station, Brinsley was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

A message from a teenage son of Ramos' showed the heartbreaking devastation the crime has caused.

"Today is the worst day of my life," 13-year-old Jaden Ramos posted on Facebook about the slaying of his father, Rafael Ramos.

"Today I had to say bye to my father," the teenager wrote. "He was (there) for me everyday of my life, he was the best father I could ask for. It's horrible that someone gets shot dead just for being a police officer. Everyone says they hate cops but they are the people that they call for help. I will always love you and I will never forget you. RIP Dad."

Brinsley had a lengthy criminal record. He was arrested 15 times in Georgia for assorted crimes and arrested four times in Ohio, Boyce told reporters Sunday.

Ramos had just turned 40; Liu had been married two months ago.

Is he anti police just because he is not happy with 5 cops killing an unarmed man for selling black market cigarettes?  Oh, yes, I know they had to apply force because he was struggling, well so would be anybody being suffocated.

Police in the states does certainly have a problem.  I know somebody, very respectable looking lady, wife of a businessman, who once visited USA.  While her husband had a business meeting she went for a walk with their 2 small children (pre-school) and got lost.  So she approached a policeman asking directions to their hotel.  He told her he is not a tourist information officer.  She was absolutely amazed and stepped just a step closer saying "please, just point me in the direction"  and he reached for his gun!!!!  She was conservatively dressed woman, obviously English, she was holding both kids by hand, so unless he though that she was about to throw a kid at her, why would he reach for a gun?  She retreated very fast.

We don't know what experiences this officer has had in people stepping up close to him in the past, do we Nova?

Like those 2 officers who had their shooter come right up to their car. I can see police officers getting very wary of that now. People getting up close and personal, I mean.

I was thinking the same thing, cops are gonna be out for blood. Doing horrible things like this and saying things like whats in the title, is not gonna fix the problem with corrupt and/or sadistic police. This isn't a cop problem, it's a trend problem. More and more, cops are expected to act a certain way, they have long since went from "protect and serve" and being a friend to the community, to crack down and make the public obedient to athority, BREAK THEM. They gone from working for the people to the people answering to them.

It don't have to be this way, but people are condisioned from birth, raised on TV and what they are taught in schools. We got police on a pedistal, and they themselves come to think of themselves as better than the lowley public.

Look up the peniltys for hitting a citizen then compare it to hitting a cop. Yes it wrong on both counts but no more wrong on one than the other. Because of what has happened in these recent events, the protests, the killings, I'm afraid to go anywhere that a cop might see me, being on their "you know what" list and all. Make no mistake, cops will be out for blood over this and given their self importance, it could be several lowlifes for every one LEO.

.

Good point! Although I think he's the worst mayor NYC has had in a long time (Dinkins)

I have mixed opinions about cops here, but you can't argue with them. Some think they have a right to have the trial right there and then.

Here is one of New Yorks 'Swinest'......some pigs are friendly and cooperative....

A 400-pound pig named after Juliet’s boyfriend decided to go for a Sunday stroll in Queens — startling a passerby who couldn’t believe her eyes and called police.

Happily, it didn’t end in a Shakespearean tragedy.

Cops from the 113th Precinct, who have known Romeo for years, just watched him waddle up to his owner’s front door in St. Albans and “knock.”

“He was just out walking around, stretching his legs,” said owner Lisa Cummings, 47. "When he wants to come in he just knocks on the and I open it for him".

NYC cops are usually friendy and helpful, but they're human too.
