Questions re the photo thread

Chukk, what's the difference between the smurfs you can buy now, and the originals from 30 years ago? I was only saying t o hubby the other day I wish I still had mine. I think my SIL gave them to my nieces. SHe also found my barbies and gave them to her girls, who promptly broke them. I was a tad upset about that. I had a Patch doll, and my Sisters Paul doll, as well as Olympic barbie and some others. Would be worth a fortune now

Flashie, I have photo I took in a cemetry in England years ago. Rows of tall straight headstones and then there is one headstone leaning to the side.  The name on the headstone was Somebody (can't remember first name) SLOPER Smiley LOL

Pimpy, without wanting to sound like a knob... What is a Van? Is it a breed...

I really have no idea what he is.

Hubby rescued him and brought him home (just like Skipper when he was a pup, he got Skip when he was dumped and left on the side of the road).

This little tyke and his family were living in the roof of a supermarket. The parents were feral cats (kitties would have ended up being the same).

Oh I just googled them....They are very striking.

He doesn't have two different coloured eyes but he's still very young.

The tail is very similar though. Also he has gingery ears and faint ginger markings on his hindquaters.

He's most likely like all our animals, a complete mixture...Smiley LOL

pimpy, there is a huge difference apart from their worth.

The molds are different, the shade of blue is different, trademark year and country they are made is all different to the originals.

The newer ones are also ugly.

Different smurfs were manufactured in different countries by different manufacturers which also adds or detracts their value

Boris, if the uploader tells me they are too big i.e., too many pixels, I just use Paint to reduce the size.

I usually use the large option on the photo thread and medium or small in regular threads.

Boris, Microsoft make a particularly efficient yet small image resizer for Windows and Googling "MS image resizer" will give you a choice to suit your particular version of Windows from XP right up to Windows 8.

For a standard 3:2 image format, the best size to post IMO is 800*600dpi and leave it at 'full size' when posting. ๐Ÿ™‚
