Eagles founding member and guitarist Glenn Frey has died aged 67 after a battle with illness.

The US rock band made the announcement on their website and official Facebook page, telling fans Frey succumbed to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative Colitis and pneumonia in New York.

I have so many good memories of concerts and music. The first album of the Eagles that I heard was 1974 when  a teacher brought in a copy of Desperado for the class to listen to.

No concerts here..

But I do remember one Summer cutting my fingers to shreds, learning their songs on a steel string guitar..ahh, those teen years..

Grammy award winning..

Oh, that's too sad.  I guess it reflects our age that so many from our youth are going lately

I just heard that Dale Griffin, Mott the Hoople's drummer, has also died. RIP

How sad- in his sleep, he had alzheimers for a number of years..
