Random drug testing for those on unemployment benefits

When I was on a mine site one of our chefs was busted "wasted" on shift, we were tested every night from then on, it was still considered random drug testing???
Maybe drug test them and if found positive they should receive vouchers for that fortnight instead of cash?

so what do you do poddster? Stop the welfare so they can starve on the street? Or they can rely on crime 100% for their daily existence?

From the article:

"The Young LNP will also ask the convention to consider allowing welfare recipients who do test positive to drugs to be able to nominate another adult to receive their benefits so their children will not miss out on any money they are entitled to."

That would leave no reason for them to rely on crime for their daily existence if they still have access to food and shelter.

I'm all for it if they fail a drug test their benefits should automatically switch from cash based to voucher based , with the vouchers linked to Id so they can not be traded for drugs, fail the first test vouchers for three months fail the second vouchers for 6 months fail the third vouchers for life or by passing 6 random drug tests

Lets take someone like Kristie Abrahms as an example. She gets tested positive for drugs. She nominates her mum (as the only persn close to her) as the chosen one to take her benefits.

Her mum might say "I'll take the money to give your kids food but you can rack off". Or even more likely, she takes the money and spends it on herself cause she has effectively won the lottery - 2 lots of welfare!

The idea is flawed on so many levels.

Stop using then. Stay at homeless shelters or get help until you are clean.

I still don't agree with random testing for benefits but then if it was on the cards for high schools?  My answer might be different.

They start young.

Yep, they won't starve because if they can afford drugs, cigs and pokies they can afford a macca's. We all make choices and even the poor and unemployed have the ability to make right or wrong decisions.

Keep it nice, I might cry if you write anything upsetting (like not)
