Yes, it's as if some people are mushrooms. They live in the dark and they eat mushroom food.

The theory of evolution is Science on a grand scale. It rests on hypotheses which are testable.

It doesn't ask for, nor require "belief" or "faith".

It's a bit depressing that there still exists people who believe that Man walked with dinosaurs 6,000 or so years ago.

Whole industries have been built on this belief, and they make lots of money from the beliefs of the ignorant and the gullible.

What do we do when people's  beliefs collide so clamorously with the evidence of scientific enqiry?

I suppose we just hold their hands and say, " their, they're, there." 😉

Yes, the sun will rise tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day.

Now, whether it will rise in the east or the west, it depends on who you talk to.

I have corrected a few people over the years when standing watching a sunrise Smiley LOL

To be fair, there're are many ignorant people out there about many different topics. I'm ignorant about how to make puff pastry.

Even non-religious people don't understand evolution. But I have an issue when people choose to be ignorant because it goes against their special book. Why don't they argue against the theory of gravity, we are less certain about  that than evolution.

I have a rough idea of why the sky is blue. Not entirely sure why water is wet. I would just say, God made it that way. Much easier.

How about John Wayne and little Ho Chi Minh walking toward the sun setting over the East China Sea in "The Green Berets"?

little Ho Chi Min was actually called Hamchuck.

It is a good scene.

There was actually a guy in Vietnam (MACV-SOG) who was very simillar to what happened in this film but not sure

of the year it occurred.

Paint

The last one was the funniest of the lot.

We were in SA, counting deer on a property. We had walked out to the start point. a knoll on the edge of a field,

pitch dark, waiting for the sun to rise.

We were talking about Navigation and the different methods of finding Due South by the use of the Southern Cross

as the sun slowly started to rise in the east.

The one of the guys said something, can't exactly remember what but stunned silence for 30 seconds before I corrected

him, pointing to the sun rising over the horizon and he went "Whooops, yes, good point" Smiley LOL

I'll never forget it ! Smiley LOL

I agree, it's astounding that some people think that man walked with dinosaurs 6,000 years ago. We all know dinosaurs have been gone for millions of years, don't we. And we certainly know for a fact that evolution happens / happened, animals and plants have been evolving for many millions of years since their initial creation - as I have explained to you all MANY times - but maybe it's because I am such a moron that I haven't been able to explain it to you properly.

The part I do have a problem with is abiogenesis and BIG BANGS.

Now Bob! You can congratulate yourselves all you like, pat yourselves on the back and talk about how intelligent you all are and how stupid we believers are, but what about answering my question in the evolution thread? Would you be so kind as to do that for me because poor idiotic me just can't work it out - probably because I have been living in the dark so long and eating too much mushroom food, but it may also be possible that I haven't quite evolved as much as all you intelligent people. Either way, can you please have mercy on this poor fool and explain to me - answer my question.
