Problem no 1. Treatment programs for sex offenders in prison are not compulsory.

Someone who has committed sex offences I suppose, should I have highlighted every different one?
This attack by a convicted murder on parole this week http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/breaking-news-blog/sydney-bus-stop-attack-accused-was-on-parole-for-murd...
But I guess I was more thinking about the Bailey guy in Melbourne when I started the thread.
And that there are hundreds of sex offenders out there on parole right now, I find that frightening!

Serious sex offenders then?

Bayley passed the program, but faked it... how can that be avoided?

Here I am referring to intentional sex offences, not the 18 yo boyfriend that gets done because he is with his 15yo girlfriend etc.
It appears that a large percentage of intentional sex offenders, be it minor or major, repeat offend and/or escalate the offence.
Therefore, IMO they don't have a place roaming around amongst us and should be treated more seriously. Parole reviews similar to a murderer perhaps.
Afterall it is all about whether an individual is deemed fit to live in society or not. If we are not sure due to the level of mental evalutions present, we need to err on the side of caution.
