Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

Hi Flashie,

I've managed to talk OH into taking me to a factory outlet some of my friends have been telling me about and then we're going out for dinner with some friends tonight. OH managed to get Monday off and Tuesday is a holiday here, so we're going away, just for an overnighter tomorrow.

I'm just waiting on an auction to funish, then I''d better do some parcel posting first up

Good morning Stringsters

Iza, it was my baby's Birthday yesterday, I am amazed you remembered.

Well done with the soil Karen and I don't know what mixer/mincer you might mean as I don't go shopping either.

Flashie, you are a very talented lady, I take my hat off to you.

Have fun at the outlet today Deb. I never have success at such places because I am so short nothing much fits me LOL

Joono, could I please ask  you to re-post your all in one quiche recipe. I have one I use all the time and everyone in the family loves it but it uses a cup of oil which I would rather not use at the moment. I can't remember your recipe but I do remember I thought at the time I would try your version.

Laney, I hope you had a wonderful day at work yesterday and the people were interesting.

Sure Prim.  I just went and copied it from Hunters old thread.

Impossible Quiche

¾ cup plain flour

40g softened butter or margarine

4 eggs

2 cups milk

1 large onion, diced

3 rashers bacon diced

½ cup grated cheese

1 sliced tomato (optional)

A couple of thinly sliced button mushrooms (optional)

1 tsp basil,

Salt and pepper

Mix first four ingredients in blender

Add the bacon (or ham), grated cheese and onion.

Pour into a greased flan dish.  Lay on the tomato and mushrooms,  and sprinkle with the basil and salt and pepper.  Bake at about  175 degrees for an hour or until set.

I did one that was a little bit different the other night but it would work equally well with this recipe.  It is from recipes+ magazine.  Instead of using tomatoes and mushrooms, they used a rectangular flan dish and layed asparagus across it like this.  This is a photo from the magazine but mine looked just as good.

I thought it worked really well if you want to try something that looks quite special.

Good morning Stringers Smiley Happy

Early to bed - accompanied by thump, thump of 'music' from a party half a block away from us Smiley Mad

We were glad not to be living next door lol

Fireworks all over the place last night - half the time I have no idea what they are celebrating.

Can you tell that sleep eluded me last night Smiley LOL

Prim - it was a great day thanks.  Wandering minstrels, pop-up 'eateries', the Freo Festival in full swing!  Such a vibrant place to live!

No firm plans today but j*oono your recipe made me want to get cooking ...... time will tell whether that eventuates.

Decided to give the gym a miss this morning - a fit of the 'lazies' has overtaken me.

Thank you Joono, recipe is just what I was after.

I won't be putting bacon in it as I don't want to use anything with preservative or too much salt and the person it is for does not like asparagus (though I love it).

I will just put tomato, celery (for crunch), corn, cheese, basil and onion or chives in mine.

I started cooking the quiches in minature muffin trays when I played squash as they were great finger food for supper and over the years that size has been requested for parties. I will cook these like that so one or 5 can be removed from the freezer and heated for consumption at short notice.

I will make the asparagus version for us 🙂  Does the asparagus get very soft? I don't like it mushy. Could it be put on the top with only a few moments left to bake?
