Today was an eventful day.
Hubby and I went bike riding again this morning.
Hubby likes riding more than I do..........and I know he slows down for me................so today I said go ahead and I will just pedal along at my own speed and meet him back at the car.
Now there I was minding my own business..............then all of a sudden.................someone put this fence right in front if me...............I swear it came out of nowhere.
I crashed into it.......................it was right next to the road............and I looked up and there is this bus stopped at the lights.
I hot up............dusted myself off..............straightened back up my handle bars........(because I was not going to push the darn bike back 2 kms)..............climbed back on the bike and rode off.................(leaving my dignity somewhere near the fence................
)
We get back home.............and I ask hubby what does he want for lunch...........and he says he fancies some curried parsnip soup.
I said I would make it for him while he runs our son to work.
When it was cooked I could not be bothered looking through the cupboard to get out the blender so I decided to use our new whizz-bang ninja bullet thingie.
I loaded it up with the soup................and told our other son how careful I needed to be to put the lid of properly so it did not leak.
I put it on the ninja.............pushed down to turn it on...........................and.......................BANG!!!!
Curried parsnip soup everywhere...................and I mean everywhere.
And then the phone rings...............................and it is a telly-marketer............trying to sell solar panels.
Well I got the giggles.............all I could see was this terrible mess............curry everywhere.
I told him he had caught me at a bad time..............I had exploded soup everywhere in my kitchen.
He laughed and said he would call me back later............(gawd I hope not)
I managed to save enough of the soup for hubby to have a cup.
It took me ages and ages to clean it up................I had to wash all the fruit in the fruit bowl..............wash the floors..............cupboards...............splashbacks.
Hmmm..............salad rolls for lunch tomorrow............................

You sure don't need another day like that. All I hope is that you did not hurt anything but your pride when you came face to face with that fence!
I am sorry to say I did laugh at your ninja bullet 'experience' though..... so sorry again but it DID sound funny the way you described it. I hope if it landed on the rug, it was the bit you want cut off - at least you have a really good reason if it did lol
At least you managed to salvage a cup for your OH though ..... definitely salad rolls tomorrow!
Prim 'surreal' is a great word to describe your walk but tinged with sadness too. More power to you for travelling all that way to participate in it 
Deb it has been beautiful here today too - around 31 with lovely high blue skies and sunshine. The river was sparkling as I drove to work and it was tempting to play hookey .... but I didn't.
Home now with all the windows and doors open and the house is being cooled by a gentle breeze. Paradise!
Have not given dinner a though as yet - just a cool drink to wet my whistle and I will repair to the kitchen and see what I can cook up.
Well Laney it was funny.............it all happened so quickly...............and just after I had instructed our son how to use it...............(ummmmmmmmmm..............best he not do what I did)
I have bruised my shoulder........which took the brunt of the crash..............but nothing that will deter me............I am determined that I will manage to ride that bike....................but stay tuned............I doubt you have heard the last of my troubles mastering it..................
And since my day was a tad shirty already................I decided it was appropriate that I glue the flies to the poop I bought to put in the grandchldrens Christmas boxes.
Arrrrrrgggggghhhhh - just when I was trying to work out what to have for dinner
