I have just been watching a time lapse sequence of the salvage of the Costa Concordia.  It is amazing to see they could actually do it and without much further impact on the environment in terms of pollution.  Very clever engineering and quite spooky to watch too - like a monster rising from the deep.

The salvagers did well to get it up in one piece. I was having a look at some underwater views yesterday, interesting the hazards to the divers, such as tablecloths and cutlery.
