It is a lay day for me today - I am still trying decide whether to have a swim or be totally lazy ........ it might wake me up more so will probably opt for one.  

Apart from that, no idea what the day will bring but there is a sense of expectation in the air lol

well I have done a few chores, now I'm determined to get that big tree up today. I need OH to bring in the ladder to decorate it but that won't happen till tomowrrow night because he's away

I'm on a countdown - only 19 days now till I fly off to Queensland for cuddles with my little great grandson

So you're spending Christmas in Qld. by the sounds of it. I bet you're really looking forward to it too it's always more fun with littlies around at Christmas time


My tree is up but not yet decorated, it's a bit crooked too, lol, I'd better wait for OH to come home.


We are having a big hail storm ATM, I can hear them coming down the chimney, and no! it's not Santa lol

Isn't it amazing - the very real weather differences we are experiencing across the continent.  It is the most perfect day here - I hesitated to come indoors but had an urgent email arriving so thought I had better check.

TGSE, whilst a hi is perfectly fine, the breadth of topics here do amuse - from cooking tips to gardening tips, weather, funny family experiences, pithy and apt sayings, cicadas, millipedes ........... it is wide-ranging and your contributions are indeed welcome.  Some of us even talk sports although I do try to restrain myself .................... the sport topic is reminiscent of a Faulty Towers - 'Do Not Mention the War' episode.

Deb, please do not try and decorate your tree until OH is home - don't want you having 'ladder problems'.

Was beautiful in the water today - was reading the 'favourite city thread' and your mention of our beaches but decided not to put my six-penneth worth in about the delights of the City of Fremantle as I didn't want to start a stampede  

I wonder how Karen's Christmas party is going

I had totally forgotten you mentioning your travel plans when we last lunched TGSE - I can just imagine your 'excitement temperature' sky-rocketing as you get down to single digits.

Probably the best Christmas present you could ask for are cuddles with your great grandie I suspect

Hi Stringers 🙂 I am home from the Christmas party...it was very Christmas partyie 😄

My lucky dip gift was handmade soap....and it's massive, about the size of a double block of butter lmao. It has a beautiful vanilla scent and the giver told me she makes them big and then chops them up, but she didn't get time haha. It'll be like washing myself with a house brick 😄

Everyone was given a raffle ticket and when your number was called you had to go up the front to dig out a lucky dip gift, and they did speeches OMG...I'm yawning thinking about it. The food was ok, fortunately

and...while I was there a friend told me she was going to the funeral of a fishing buddy. I didn't know he'd died. So I went to the funeral too...it was very well done, with funny fishing stories instead of songs and sadness,

So, I've been to a Christmas party and a funeral today, and that's enough for me.
