Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

Iza, beautiful words. And so insightful.

On a coffee break here, or to be more honest...a panadol break and I am having a coffee at the same time.

I just experimented putting orange rind in cream, piping it into puff pasty cases and topping with chocolate.

and so easy 🙂  ........they are now - on.the.menu

Back to the grindstone ...

I'm in the middle of the trifle Prim, which is rather messy.  Still, got to have trifle at Christmas.  It is an old English favourite and we don't call it pigs trough delight LOL

Your dessert sounds lovely.  Yum yum.

Yum I love old fashioned grandmother-recipe trifle. This year I'm making Eton mess, which is basically a mangled pavlova. I reckon I can't go wrong lol

Yes, Joono. I saw the recipe and thought to myself "that's how my pavlovas turn out, now I can validate it with a genuine recipe name". Boy, was I happy about that 😄

I am nearly finished.............I think.

I just have a potato dish to half cook.

I have made the caramel cheesecake...........and I must say it looks rather good.....it has no cracks on the top like it usually does...........I left it in the oven to cool longer.

The boys wanted chocolate ripple cake..........so that is done.

I have painted our youngest sons lumps of coal............(I will try to get a picture of his face when he reaches into his stocking to find....................no chocolates.............but coal.......because he has been put on the naughty list.)

I am sure there will be something I have missed...............but I decided this year I was not going to stress over the menu..................................it is not that important............it is more important to me that I get to spend and enjoy it with our family..........and not stuck in the kitchen.

Good morning Stringers Smiley Happy

Gosh you are a productive lot!  I'm not but I have been to the city north of the river for a briefing (without a visa too lol), found a parking spot right outside - oh and got to the supermarket at 8.02am to get some supplies for tomorrow.  Again I got a parking spot right outside, through the checkout without waiting Smiley Surprised  Where ARE all the crowds?  Probably at the beach lol

Unlike you Karen, I did not loiter outside having a smoke but I did light up as soon as I got into the car lol.

Iza, you said you had trouble finding the right words but the words you found made my heart squeeze.  Thank you.  Your wishes are of course reciprocated.

I will look forward today to reading about all your progress with your culinary delights girls (and Deb's shopping expedition) Smiley LOL

LOL .... I will let you into a secret. On a Come Dine With Me show last week someone served up Eton Mess and I did think it would be an easy but great dessert to be served up by a cettain poster on these boards 🙂 🙂

Trifle always looks great to me but I have never fancied it. I did not like the taste of the sherry mum put in hers and I don't like custard, so I always just watched the others eat it LOL. OH doesn't like it either because he says his mother was a terrible cook and made terrible trifle, so never wants to eat it again 🙂  I am sure if I tried it again today I would probably like it.

Hi Laney, glad the trip was uneventful.

Flashie, you are sooooo right. This year I am trying to be extra prepared so I spend less time in the kitchen. So far so good.

Especially if it was j*oono's trifle or Karen's Eton Mess (perfect name for Karen's cooking - at least she can't burn it) Smiley LOL
