Well, we are back & we didn't get rained on, in fact we've had very little rain here, just a bit this afternoon, but at least it's much cooler and less humid outside now.

We need rain.  It was pretty hot today and not too bad but the water choppers were hanging around near my house which made me a bit worried. 

There was a small scrub fire and I think it was in Kenwick but all seems ok.  Whenever I hear those chopper blades now it scares me after the last big bush fire.

It's so strange really.  As soon as there is a fire alert then someone should be updating the dfes site.  There was nothing!

Now there is for people in the Kenwick/Maddington/Gosnells area that it's all clear.

As soon as I smell smoke or hear the choppers I want to know what is going on.  Not 5 hours later.

it was a busy board back then EMB with quite a few long running threads. There used to be a lot more people posting here too, I think it's because of social media sites like FB & Twitter

Prim we got a fair bit of rain late last night & it's still going.  We need a good soaking here

Hiya Prims. Yes, I know what you mean. Actually the board gradually disintegrated when 'King' James was made Community Manager, and even though there is now a new CM (Alan), things haven't changed. It's pretty pathetic now, and as I've said on your boards before, one thread in twenty-four hours is the order of the day

Hello to you too, Debra. Yes, it used to be a busy board, very much like this one is now. Of course I can't make any comparisons as to whether this one is busy or not, because I've only been visiting here for the past month or so, but it seems to me to be whizzing along quite nicely. Perhaps as you say, Faceache and Twitterings have a lot to answer for regarding the ebay forums. Anyhow the UK RT isn't even a shadow of it's former self. It's a ghost.

Away now, as it's almost 11.00 p.m. and I have to walk a neighbour's dog. You two ladies have a good day now, and I hope you are not suffering too much in your present heatwave.

I am sorry to hear about the demise of the UK board.

we've had heatwaves and you've had floods, it's a strange old world.
