Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

Round Table Revisited

Good afternoon Stringers Smiley Happy

Sounds like you have been copping some pretty awful weather over in the eastern states.  Hopefully you have all managed to stay warm and as dry as possible.

Smoke haze has dissipated here but more planned burning over the next couple of days might bring it back.  We have been making the most of this magic weather out and about as we have rain predicted from Friday.

Have been enjoying the autumnal pics in the photo thread.  We don't get the vivid colours here and janeababe's pics of Orange Botanic Gardens bring back memories of when I lived in the mountains.  Tried unsuccessfully to find a pic of a blood red Japanese Maple which used to be outside my bedroom window - it was huge and just magnificent ......... sadly you will just have to take my word for it lol

Glad you have got your computer sorted out Nics.  Girl - you need to stay indoors in that weather!  How did you go at the doctor?

Hope your shopping was successful j*oono.  You needed to take a copy of this thread with you as a measure of fine quality string Smiley LOL

Hi Laney.  No good I'm afraid.  I couldn't find any string or jute as fine as I wanted it.  Cotton will have to do.

If you want some Autumn pics a trip up Araluen way might help.  I haven't been up there for a while but I remember some lovely Liquid Ambers (I think) and Magnolias.  When do Magnolias flower?  It might be too soon.

Hell Laney.  It's been so nice and clear today but we just got the smoke roll in again.  It's so thick you can taste it even inside.

Hi j*oono - that smoke would be from the burn off they are doing east of Roleystone.  It has not reached us here on the coast YET!

Forgot about Araluen - might go next week as I am busy workwise over the next few days.  Magnolias coming into bud it think - we don't have one but neighbours up the road do and I noticed them developing the other day.

Thanks for the reminder about Araluen (too late for me to get anything for the photo thread though)

Spoiler
'Fine' string must be limited to us lol lol lol

Hi Laney, I haven't gotten around to autumn photos this week. We had the most incredible hail storm this morning but apart from that it hasn't been too bad, though it is cold

It's hard to imagine the nice weather you have over there, shame they are spoiling it for you with those burn -offs.

Joono, what are you making?

Evening Deb

I hope you didn't suffer any real damage from the hailstorm (apart from vegetation being shredded).

I am always wary of hailstorms having seen the results of one which hit Paddington some years ago.  My nephew's brand new car (along with many others I realise) ended up like looking a Swiss cheese Smiley Sad

Down on the coast we didn't get the smoke that j*oono was experiencing. Thankfully for us the prevailing winds kept it away (sorry j*oono)

Are you planning on going to the Perth Food Festival at Langley Park over the weekend j*oono?

Deb, I wanted to make some little string bags and some miniature door mats.  I can still do some bags but not the mats.  I'll keep looking.

Laney, I didn't even know it was on.  I must seem a bit cloistered.

Bowie went home tonight.  My nephew messaged me to see if he could come and pick him up tonight to surprise my sister and brother in law as they get home from their travels tonight.  It was nice having him here.  I hope Baloo won't be too sad.

Morning everyone.  It was funny only having one dog and a cat sitting outside my bedroom door this morning. Over the past month I've had three of them sitting there patiently waiting for me to come out and get them breakfast!

They must have internal alarm clocks.

It's funny how Fishbait didn't seem to mind having him here.  Bowie would even give her a bit of a nudge and a lick at times and it didn't seem to faze her because she couldn't see him.  I don't know whether he was being affectionate or it was a taste test.

So!  All is quiet and a bit less hairy here this morning.  Beautiful day, 27c.  Hopefully the smoke doesn't roll in again but it usually does around 2pm.

Yoo Hoo, knock knock, you there Joono?

Heard about you seeking string/twine for miniature string bags, etc.  I bought some twine for the garden way back.  It is really too fragile for its purpose; but may suit your requirement.  I got it from the big green shed's nursery section.  There was a green and a natural (hemp) colour.

Might be a consideration ....if they still stock it.
