Good morning Deb
Like you, I always thought black was the only mourning colour. The purples are so rich and jewel like and the apple green so delicate that they seem almost disrespectful iykwim.
Not many plans for the week ahead thankfully. I worked at home yesterday and got heaps done so feel like a few days off.
We had the most magnificent rain yesterday and overnight - it has been a while since we had decent falls so it really was welcome.
We still have some pruning to do but will have to wait until it clears a bit and then stuff it into the bin rather than get it out in time for the council pick up.
I can feel some cooking going to happen today - its that sort of day

It is a lovely 5 degrees here at the moment..........and I can tell you that is about 5 degrees more than it was when we went for our walk this morning................(crazy............)
There is a very clever lady who makes those costumes..................maybe some of the pictures I took were not just the Mourning clothes.............although I did think that after 6 months of mourning they could were certain colours but not sure of that.
I have not done our pruning yet.................I had better get it done before hubby decided to do it...........he calls it pruning but I call his type of pruning amputation.

A walk or a swim Flashie?????
Got a bit of cooking done and then, because it cleared up a bit, thought we might get that extra pruning done ....
Agree with you both about men doing the pruning - terrifying to watch but I must admit when the growth reappears it is usually strong and healthy.
Dammit - Murphy's Law was working. It was an additional pick up to their regular schedule and usually it takes days after nominated dates ..... they arrived before we had finished and taken it out!!!
Definitely going in the weekly bin now
Deb or Flashie - is it one of you who put grated apple in your sausage rolls?
Edited cos I missed your question about the wind Deb ..... heard a bit of it last night but nothing unusual at this time of the year really - particularly given our location. Baloo's Mum is the one who suffers most from those dastardly Easterlies

Did you know that we have our very own Stonehenge here in WA?
Located in Esperance it is purported to be the only life size replica in stone in the world.
You needed to know that of course lol

Thanks Deb - must have been Flashie then
With pork and veal mince it would be a nice addition and the carrot would help retain the moisture too

GMTA re Stonehenge Deb
Must be the time of the year
Smaller household here means they will not disappear as quickly - but then I am not making dozens. I have also used both carrot and apple so thank you to both of you.
Actually quite enjoying getting back into the kitchen for a change (instead of just watching it on TV) - have not done it often enough lately- not that there is anything gourmet going on right now lol
