Wallander was great, shame that's finished too. Lots of series I've been watching have now ended, so I hop they come up with some new ones
Another series of Vera is staring next Sunday to replace Wallander. I'm really looking forward to it. love that character.

Will be making pikelets on the weekend too Freddie.
Last time I made them they went into the freezer and ended up looking more like piglets than pikelets.
Not to be totally defeated though, I defrosted them, laid them out flat in the bottom of a glass baking dish, poured maple syrup over them, then made one of those awful instant puddings, poured that over, then made a thickish custard and poured that on, and proudly named it "piglet trifle".
Couldn't have been too bad, they all came back for seconds!

Good afternoon Ladies
Any left for me????? I bet there aren't
Vera is coming back? Fantastic! I was beginning to feel cheated - just when things are settling down at work and I have time to watch a bit of TV, I figured there would be little worthwhile left. Thanks TGSE - i really enjoyed Vera so you have made my day
Freddie - a kitchen reno? OMG - after your last debacle no wonder Mr F is hesitating. Maybe the pikelets might tempt him to change his mind lol
When faced with a minor disaster you did a great job in reviving your pikelets Tas ..... well done

Thinking about a kitchen reno next year *shudder*
with a new oven and cook top
Mr F ignores me when I try to start a conversation about it
Hope Prim and family are doing OK.
Hi Freddie ๐
wow! a kitchen reno, that sounds exciting!
but my hubby would try and avoid the issue atm too
haven't seen Prim for a little while and I also hope all is going OK

hi Tas,
we're all waiting for warmer weather here, a bit over winter. you've just taught me that I can't freeze pikelets.. well done on the rescue though.. clever thinking

actually I''d been thinking I haven't made pikelets for awhile, everyone loves them in this weather. I got as far as buying some bi carb last week and that's as far as i got with them.
She-ele I already have the IQ set to record the new Vera series - looking forward to that one

Hi Deb
Just sitting here listening to the radio and unwinding from the day .....
Do you save them up and watch them all in a row Deb?
We are technologically backward in this household - at least when it comes to recording tv stuff.
I don't know when we last recorded anything and have probably forgotten the instructions and would have to read them all again ... life is too short to do that lol

Hi Laney I know Prim does that and it's a good idea for some shows.
I usually have things of interest recorded and save them for when there's nothing on and we want to watch somehting that holds our interest
If they play Game of Thrones on the Boxed Sets channel again, I might record the lot and watch it back to back because waiting a week for the next episode really disrupted it, if that makes sense lol

Boxed sets channel?
See how behind the times we are lol
Heard about that show - never watched it but even if we could, I doubt I would (from the little I heard about it).
If I miss something of interest I usually try to watch it on iview lol
