Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

"Round Table Revisited" (RTR)

Round Table Revisited

Hi folks

Returned from a gastronomic tour of Albany - was not exactly planned that way but it just happened!

Some fantastic dining down there - Liberte at the London Hotel - Vietnamese French fusion, Gourmandise & Co - divine French pastries and other delicacies and the Earl of Spencer - great atmosphere and fantastic food.

Spent the afternoon at the Anzac Memorial - incredibly moving ........ then a morning out around Frenchman's Bay and the recently constructed lookouts at the Gap and Natural Bridge .... an engineering feat and definitely not for those who fear heights.  Our timing was perfect as we watched the wild weather approaching there, the sea was a maelstrom which was mesmerising but we managed to get back to the car just before the heavens opened lol.

The windfarm there was eerie with the whooooomp whooooomp of the blades turning high above us - all 18 of them supply 80% of Albany's power.

Stopped at a private winery on the way home, picked up some wonderful old white port and shiraz - all chemical free too.

Anyway, that is enough of my waffling - it was just great and we will be going back again later in the year.  Have just been researching recipes for some dishes we had at the Liberte - J I have found a fantastic recipe for brussel sprouts with lime, honey and Sriracha ...... mouth watering.

Better set to and unpack - yukkkkkkk

Afternoon friends Smiley Happy

Anyone had a look at the Archibald entries this year?

https://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/prizes/archibald/2017/

A favourite is difficult for me to pick:

Burt's Bare Tarragh

Frost's Janet Dawson

Greensmith's Eileen Kramer

Richardson's John Bell

.... are on my short list.

Deb - it was great thanks.  Well done to the Tigers!  Interest has waned a bit for us this year ...... I wonder whySmiley LOL

I am much like you Deb - have not been in here for ages.

Enjoying all this free time and it is amazing where it all goes - seems never enough time to do all the things we want to lol.

Spent the weekend at the Avon Valley Descent and with all the rain we have been having, it really was great.  Not something I would ever consider participating in (even when I could) but still it was worth watching.  Perfect weather for it too.

Heard the great news about the Tigers Deb - your OH must be really happy. Secretly pleased that St. Kilda beat the Eagurls too (sorry TGSE) but I am sick of 'friends' giving our Dockers such a hard time Smiley LOL

Busy week ahead with this and that.  Hope everyone is well and happy.  Catch up when I can.

Just a tad chiily over here in the wonderful West these past few days.

Thought I would share a couple of pics taken by Michael Dolphin of Digital Media this morning up on Bluff Knoll:

Snow on Bliff Knoll with Quokka.jpgQuokka on Bliff Knoll 10.08.17.jpg

Edited to mention these are pics of Quokkas in the Stirling Ranges and usually seen on Rottnest Island (from where the Island got its name from the Dutch - Rottnest = Rats Nest)!

Thanks for those pics Laney

I had no idea tnat quokkas lived anywhere else other than Rotto

I don't know what happened to Freo yesterday.. they seem to have lost their hunger.

but we'll take  that win and much needed percentage to keep us in the 4

A few difficult games ahead for us I think... when The Tigers play well, they're amaing, when they play badly, they're just awful
