Rudd and Gillard must be made to pay

I agree that previous PM's and elected MP's should have their gravy train for life cut and cut deep.

Why should we pay for the failures of Rudd And Gillard, the two worst failures in Australian political history, when they get to live the high life for the rest of their lives and the taxpayers pay.

In this climate of mind numbing debt and deficit, cuts that will hurt us, no one should be allowed to get off scot free at our expense.:

IT was in 2007 that we were taken for mugs and in 2014 we will pay for that with cuts in our federal budget.

Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard must be made to pay too.

Cast your mind back to when Rudd first burst on to our television screens. He looked like a younger, fresher-looking version of John Howard. Rudd said he wasn’t going to apologise for being a “fiscal conservative” and asked for our trust in the federal election.

At that time, after 13 years of Howard, our faith in politicians was higher than it is now. We had no commonwealth debt; $45 billion in public savings was burning a hole in our pocket. A nation of relaxed and comfortable gamblers took a punt. Carriage of our precious finances went to the Labor Party. We lost, they won.

Rudd turned out to be a vainglorious Trojan horse for Gillard and the unions. Now we have more than $350bn in commonwealth debt.

In the recent election campaign, after snatching his stolen leadership crown back from Gillard, Rudd was squeezed for time. His pitch included an almost comical rant: vote for Tony Abbott and you will be “cut, cut, cut to the bone”.

Cut pensions in half for all past pm's and politicians who have one.

That will go a long way to the budget.

try an concentrate on the failings of the current lot rather than tedious falsehoods copied from the usual apologists. i noticed abbott had his greasy paw on the princess's back yesterday, i remember clearly the trash press castigating keating for touching the queens back in the same (but somewnat less lecherous) fashion years ago. the carp double standard applied by the right dominated media is so obvious its laughable.

This PPTSD certainly lingers on,  whilst apparently dimming the memories of the Poor Me and Kevin circus act, not forgetting the vacillating caucus clowns, but I think the chorus have already!
