Russia - such a disgrace !

I don't know about anyone else. but I nor our business, is any longer buying anything remotely Russian.

This is not so much choosing to take a side, but merely not wanting to be seen as condoning recent events.

I totally agree Kopes.

And I don't mind saying I will take sides - what has been done is unforgivable.

The same can be said for the different kind of war we have been fighting for the past 2 years - nothing purchased from China either.

Zilch.

Putin has ordered his military to invade Ukraine. The order has already resulted in the killing of Ukraine soldiers and the murder of innocent Ukraine men, women and children. This should not be tolerated in a world where the vast majority of people want to live peacefully. Putin is an evil psychopath and must be held accountable. I hope a high price is put on his head.

Thank god I prefer Finlandia vodka😎

Actually, I really can't think of anything I buy that is produced in Russia🤔.  My son did bring me back some Russian chocolate from his holiday in Moscow and St Petersburg last year but it was only okay and not worth looking to import more.

For me it’s not so much Russia, not the ordinary people of Russia, as it is Vladimir Putin, his government and his armed forces.

The Russians I know are in shock, horrified.

It is absolutely a disgrace. Russia is a huge and powerful country; it doesn’t need Ukraine. But I understand it’s about something different… grabbing back historical territory that has been under Russian control or at least under its umbrella previously. But the tumultuous history of Ukraine reflects a long struggle for independence, which it gained… and to try to take that away by force is horrible.

Would it not have been better for Russia to create ties of friendship and support rather than to loom threateningly in anticipation of aggressive invasion? After all, go back far enough in Russia’s history and you’ll find other tribes who occupied or controlled the various parts of the land… At what point do we stop saying, “We controlled this section of the earth once so it’s forever ours”…?

I am very concerned that all the huffing and puffing won’t stop Russia vanquishing Ukraine. Political and financial sanctions - are they going to cause Putin to so much as pause for thought? Really worrying for so many reasons.

My prayers and thoughts are with the people of Ukraine.

More to the point of needing/wanting Ukraine :

Russia's access to the world's oceans, aside from the Arctic, is also limited. ... It also reveals why Russia is, for all intents and purposes, a landlocked country. A country's access to the sea can greatly influence its economic and political strength.

Ukraine is not a landlocked country. Ukraine has a coastline on the Black Sea of approximately 1,728 miles.

Did anybody see Trump responding to questions about the Ukraine invasion? He said Putin was, "smart, savvy and a genius". He also said NATO is dumb and Biden caused the invasion. I wonder what would be happening now if he was still the US President.
