Do you think it is about time eBay had a close look at "Report Button Abuse"?

Some posts that have 'earned' slaps have been for smilies, words like, ..it, common denominator, maturity, Ranga, befuddlement...... and the list goes on and on.

I am sure everyone can add a few of there own that have been slapped, not because they violated board policy but because someone was bored and thought it was "fun" to press the button.

I rarely come on here but I did reply to a thread the other day & voila! slapped.

I have been around here for many years & I used to enjoy the boards but these days it's all about the nanny threads, confected outrage about just about everything, & spiteful snipes, interminable scrollers & C & P's.

I have noticed that there is a clique on here that are just plain nasty.

No fun on here anymore.

None of the luvvies want to participate because if the report function was modified to show the names of the reporters they'd all have to change their identities & disappear.:^O

"Report groups"?? No wonder my posts disappear when others who are offensive & just plain liars are left.

The left wing clique are the worst I've ever come across & if  I post on another different subject they flock over there to start the bp'ing & ganging up & backing each other up.

I believe they should all be outed for what they do. I believe they bring the boards down & if they don't agree with what's posted move on or put a sensible opinion up instead of the interminable c&p & links to  radical sites.

I have been around here for a lot longer than they think, I had my up's & down's with some posters but never did we see the reporting in such large numbers like we see now, never the  snipes with no substance, never the playing the man & totally ignoring the subject.

This mob are the worst I've ever come across, in fact I've never come across it before.

They are so feral that any poster of the right do not even bother to come on here except for a tiny few (3 or 4 at the most).

I have been pm'd & they have told me their opinion about coming on here & it's not been a happy experience for them.

If they are a newbie they are accused of multiple id's & then the clique go into a frenzy trying to work out who it is so they can discredit even more.

In closing, the mods should take notice of the thousands of appeals they get,  look at taking the report function off or displaying the reporters name.

What do you mean what is my point? I am allowed to respond to incorrect info being spread around about myself .

The top sentence is a quoted post in this thread from rich.in.. it is not a one off post from them, it is ongoing.

If you want my point it is this: I am calling someone out on their posts because they are completely unfounded.

If anyone wants to get the full picture on rich..in.. read the last part of the thread about my daughter marrying a japanese... has stooped to a very low level there.

That is what brings the board down.

Not a bad idea really.

Obviously it could not show on the open forum for all to see, but how hard would it be for eBay to have a red flag system whereby a certain number of reports in a certain period from any one id, would be flagged and more attention paid to the reports from that member. ?:|

Just a thought.
