For all those who keep repeating that Prime Minister Gillard has not been the target of sexist attacks since she won the last election battle what do you call today's events?
First the Army.
Then the Tim is gay attack on Gillard.
Are you really ready to accept these behaviours as the norm for your daughters and sons?

I always thought he was a bit bisexual or something... so very relevant question imo
Relevant in what context? In the context of the office of PM? In the context of politics?

no and nor should the judge or anyone else imo .It looks pathetic and as though the person thinks they have the right to judge a person and treat them based on their own judgement..legal or not
If that were tha case the legal system would crumble to dust.
And by the way I was under the impression that we were debating respect and not judgement

Would it happen to a female Liberal leader though?
The fact that so many posters came out and defended the menu is very telling, generally speaking would the left side of politics be as critical if the Liberal Party had a female leader?
The newspapers are very much to blame as they train these monkeys brains to find it acceptable.

Oh gosh DY instead of using a snipers rifle you have now changed to a shotgun, and "men" are in your sights.
Interesting undercurrents I would suggest (believe)!

I think martini talked about sexism in the workplace recently, or was that the small mans syndrome? lol
It's always on my mind because it has skyrocketed.
The difference between the sexism I would have aimed at me 10 years ago compared to now is that men (and it is always men) would think twice before uttering a sexist remark. Through a combination of awareness and respect.
But nowadays, they seem quite proud of their sexism and think it's MY fault if I take offence.
If I walked on a building site 10 years ago and a bunch of men wolf whistled me, I'd give them the finger or tell them to get lost and they would have a laugh amongst themselves and we'd all let it go. If I reported it, they would be apologetic.
If the same thing happened now and I reacted the same way, they actually become aggressive. And the retorts I get are full of sexual and violent innuendo. When I report them, they stand in front of me and their foremans and say things like "Who does she think she is?... This is a mans workplace....she deserves it..." as if I am not even standing in the room, let alone that I am in a higher position than they are.
Attitudes to women are sliding so far backwards that I despair for my own daughter and the future she faces.

I doubt that very much Donna.
Most left leaning people have values that preclude that direction of thought.

Donna and others, as much as you would like to steer the issue of the incompetence of the PM and the present government in the direction of a difference in gender it wont wash.
The fact remains that the pm is a disaster, not because of gender, but because of incompetence, underhandedness, lack of credibility and the list goes on.

No the fact remains that parrots keep repeating this government is a disaster and the PM is incompetent because of her gender on a regular basis.
