Been reflecting over the last few days about the state of affairs in this country.
From the moment Ms Gillard took the Prime Ministership away from the clutches of Mr Abbott she was doomed to fail. No matter how much she achieved she was never going to be allowed to govern .
All the while we were guided through the Global Financial Crisis, made the nation and it's economics the envy of the world. AAA credit ratings. Hundreds of pieces of legislation passed through the house. Apologising to the Stolen Generation NDIS, NBN, Gonski reforms, and the list of achievements goes on.
Of course there were some concerns along the way within the Labor Party, but I was prepared to give the government the benefit of the doubt until these concerns were dealt with, with due process. Because I believe the government have the nations interest at heart.
It was all for naught with the destructive, negative, belligerent Liberal Party and the Murdoch owned papers with it's mouthpieces like Bolt, Hadlee, Jones, Akerman. The nastiest, hate filled propaganda flooding the internet every hour of every day.
I fear for this nation for what it's about to receive as the alternative. An arrogant aggressive man and a front bench that defies belief.
I hope when the Liberal Party instil their AUSTERITY measures we don't end up like some nations in Europe who thought AUSTERITY measures were the correct path to take.
Rant over

I've never seen the amount of hate towards a sitting Prime Minister as I have seen with Ms Gillard.
It doesn't matter if you listen to the radio or read the newspapers or read forums online the hate is overwhelming and downright nasty. I don't recall ever seeing such nastiness in all my adult years.
Is it because of the sheer amount of media and types of media out there now that enables it to be seen so much more.?
Is it because the Independents handed the government to the Labor Party and Ms Gillard, thus making them the worlds biggest sore losers.?
When do people like Bolt, Hadlee, Jones, and Akerman become accountable for the single bloody mindedness in favour of one Party on national Television and Radio ?
Are there any Journalists that show the same single mindedness toward the Labor Party and air their one sided views as much as these mouthpieces do.?
I have respect for the office of the Prime Minister however the ramblings and pure disgust of these Liberal voting zealots has lessened the office of Prime Minister to meet their own agenda.
Thankfully I have all the usual suspects on this forum on ignore.
This deserves reposting
*loud applause*

some people have been calling her incompetent from the very beginning haven't they ?
Yup, Me.:)
I really have to wonder how she lasted this long. I guess the labor caucus is a slow moving machine ..........REAL slow.

That figures, a typical labor trait. Dont like reality? Stick your head in the sand and pretend it is not there.
Bit hard to get anything done in that position though 🙂

I was thinking back the other day about past ALP leaders ... Hawke, Keating, Beazley, Latham, Crean, Rudd and Gillard. I was wondering why Hawke and Keating stood out for me as being different.
I came to the conclusion that they remained themselves when they took over the leadership role, and they retained a sense of humour, and they continued to talk to and appeal to the people (well until they didn't).
It seems to me that the people who are "molding" the leaders are mostly to blame. Gillard was an excellent politician, minister and deputy PM. She was witty, intelligent, a great public speaker. It's a shame ... for everyone.
The ALP, in my opinion, has also turned too far to the right ... and gives in too much to special interest groups. I blame this on Pauline Hansen.

I'm surprised she lasted this long. She never really fitted into the job, she never looked in control & the shrank in it.
The job totally overwhelmed her & the politicking instead of leading destroyed any credibility she might have had. She ended up a figure of ridicule overseas & the stunts like the race riot instigated by her own staffers that backfired so badly for Gillard making her look weak & not able to stand on her feet.
Blaming the media & the ludicrous assumption the it is somehow Pauline Hanson's fault beggars belief.
The Labor party is a laughing stock, nobody believes them & Q&A last night proved it.

I think the one who stood out last night on Q & A was Turnbull, he had little to say and what there was, was ridiculous. I was very disappointed in him.... Latham was laughable.

Do you always judge people before they have a chance to do anything to be judged for?
Sounds like a closed mind from the outset.

"Thankfully I have all the usual suspects on this forum on ignore"
At least LL "listens" to the messengers before dissin them, followed by a firing squad.
But why should DLA remain all alone?
