Trading hours at the local St George bank have gone from 9am-5pm Mon-Fri; to 9-4 Mon-Thur; still 9-5 Friday. Not sure about Saturday.
It appears that the internet and self-serve business deposits and ATMs are taking their toll on staffing levels/times.
I told the girls, I told them. I said "pets",(why did Pixie jump in there?)
"Don't teach and encourage us to use alternate methods of banking. You are putting yourselves out of a job." I told them. But did they listen?.
Oh, and that's right, there icould be a young whippersnapper concierge to greet you, who wants to call you by your christian name.
Just like the NRMA office.
Remember when banks were 10am-3pm opening hours. With different queues for Deposits; Withdrawals and you gave due respect to the Bank Manager? And the local postoffice or newsagency were agents for the Commonwealth Savings Bank.?
Times sure are a'changing.
And don't get me started on self serve supermarkets, hardware shop staff.......
