There used to be a poster with an avatar of a cow with big red lips she spelt poorly too.. what is your point crikey?
That was me!
I have improved a fair bit though since then, but always happy to improve more....
So my point is, I'm glad that you're here to help me, cos I'd rather be corrected here and learn, than lose marks on an assessment item.
and I've seen some classic errors go through that spell check never picked up cos the word used was actually spelled correctly...
One was on a note home to a grade 3 class about what the students had to bring on an excursion...
The teacher MEANT to write "bring a pencil and notebook", but instead wrote bring a pen** (name of boys bit) and a notebook....
Well a few of the parents bought that little gaffe to her attention and she is said to have pondered aloud "but I used spell check, why didn't that pick it up"
ROFL

Well that's odd. A 100% paperless school sending notes home. On slate is my guess.

LOL, been a fair while since any of my kids were in grade 3

Well that's odd. A 100% paperless school sending notes home. On slate is my guess.
and nah, our school sends home notes via email - they send almost eveything online - I'd say everything, but I'm sure there would be something that wasn't.
This was the first year it has been fully operational, it took about 3 years to get it to this stage.
Even our report cards are now sent through the parent portal.
It used to do my head in, they would post home our report cards in individual envelopes at a cost of $1.05 each - multiply that by 1000 odd students four times a year and it adds up. They didn't even put all the report cards of one family in the one envelope.
Parents weren't even allowed to pick them up - they had to be posted.
So, I'm much happier that they are now delivered electronically, it must save some paper, cos I only print out the important ones, and obviously saves a lot in paper cost for the school, the cost of envelopes and the cost of whoever has to put them in the envelope and address them etc, but the postage costs are now removed all together, so I'd estimate a good $6000 saving a year, just on the report cards.

It is not unnatural for me to think and care of how others feel and the impact my words may have on them
Well you should be pleased to know that your words have little to no impact on me..
Not having a go, just making the point that there isn't a lot that offends me

Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never harm me
Learnt that a child, and it is good advice.
