I was building something in the workshop, years ago, and this young bloke materialises.

He's watching me work, and I reached for the hammer that was on the bench, next to him.

It was just out of my reach, so I asked him to hand the hammer to me.

He reached for it, and his hand went straight through it.

I don't know which of us laughed more at that.

"Sorry", he said, "I don't seem to be much help".

I told him not to worry, it was good to have the company while I worked, but gee it was funny, the look on his face when hand and hammer didn't meet, ha ha.
