that we all stopped commenting or passing judgement on posts or threads that we don't like?
eBay is a large and diverse community, There are always going to be some that like some things and some that don't.
So, as long as the post/thread is within eBay's guidleines, is it time to just let people post what and how they want?
Perhaps if you do find something offensive, how about PM'ing the person involved to politely explain your position instead of doing it in a manner that may cause humiliation.
*Disclaimer, the above option did not work very well for me, so in no way can I advise that this is the best option, but just a suggestion. LOL.

It's really interesting. I try to apply the same principals online as I do to RL.
So if two people are discussing politics in RL both have very different views and are expressing and discussing them as they both have every right to do...and one decides he doesn't like the other expressing their view .All would seem to be going OK however one suddenly feels that this bloke is attacking him and a punch is warranted .(which is illogical imo )
They each had a right to have opposing views ..and I would wonder how the person who laid the punch could really justify their behaviour/reaction and not realise how extreme and inappropriate it was, how they justify their reaction ?....especially when they themselves took such personal offence to nothing more than someone who dared to express a different of opinion?

I agree with Amy, if I want to share my opinion then I will, if it offends and the person see's it as bullying then that's their problem... I know I'm not a bully and think maybe they need to not be so precious. I also never read large amounts of copy and paste stuff.
I rarely see any real bullying on this forum. Trolling definately but not real bullying.

Or if someone finds something else offensive, rather than maliciously reporting the "offensive" post, they could just ignore it

Exactly Patchoo.
I don't mind being PM'd but if it's because your offended over some random comment I made on a forum, then I don't want to be PM'd over it.

sigh..... mail incoming..... looks like someone was too offended.

I often comment on posts are disgaree with and chances are that it also means I dont particularly like them.

I was going to make a similar comment but I think what Crikey meant was instead of publically humiliating someone, PMing would be a better option.

I have no wish to receive a pm from someone....or a message through ebay...if you are wanting to abuse me.... or the facility for contact. Chances are, you won't get a reply from me but will from ebay.

*politely PMing - i should have said, of course..

and that could be the problem either way...it depends how things are communicated

but in general, no i cant say I appreciate(d) receiving PMs of such nature. If someone feels THAT strongly about it, I suggest to report my posts instead.
