I use it in everyday language, especially when talking about this government. It used to bother me, not anymore - it's like the other 4 letter word - short, sharp and can be used in many different ways.

amazing (well not really) the spin doctors from his office saying he used the word 'Grub' . i guess lying is second nature to that bunch of grubs .

i think the clerk has some sort of discretion in that area. it really depends what he days to the folks who write it all down i guess .
