Some sad news

It was about 12 months ago, that I read her Life Without The Boring Bits.

A very intelligent woman, who had a thoughtlessly cruel mother and a miserly absentee father, who lost her brother whom she protected when he was young, to drowning.

Thank you Colleen for some very interesting reads.  R.I.P.

Pity the lady who wrote the Obit didn't take a cue from her !

The Kudos by bluecat to my post reminded me since no one commented.

Did anyone read the diatribe written which my post above referred to ?

Here

I had to find the original article because so much "chatter on the net" it wasn't on first page.

This is what got up peoples noses

The Australian's obituary for bestselling Australian author Colleen McCullough has raised some chatter on Twitter for its focus on the late writer's physicality. "Plain of feature, and certainly overweight, she was nevertheless a woman of wit and warmth," the obituary says.

Yes, agree.

Everyone who knew here knows she was like that but no need to put it in an Obit, especially not in the first paragraph.

It has detracted from her death AND more importantly, those who wanted to celebrate her life and achievementsm,

in what was (at the time) a very male dominated / orientated society.

Just my HO.
