If spreading false news was a crime in Australia everyone would be in jail.
This is a ridiculous sentence makes no sense!
Egypt should release them immediately.

There was no false news.
Tony Abbott and our government should take steps immediately. You can't just wipe your hands of this and say it's their laws etc. He was doing a job and had only been there for a week.

Apparently (from what I have read) they had no evidence. They had nothing to charge or convict them with.

I suspect now they have made their point that, following overtures from the Australian Government, he will be released before long as a "goodwill gesture." Whether his two fellow journlists will be afforded the same leniency is debatable though.
