Was helping out today and dropped something. Bled like a stuck pig. Nothing like tissue and strapping to stop the flow, and of course I have my steel caps on

Not bad, lol. But the thin strap might dig in and cut off blood flow. Ouch!

Do you have duct tape?

I used electrical tape and a tissue yesterday.

Oh the foot colour is not because of the injury.

I have purple 'socks' from high dose prednisone over a long period. My skin is very thin and my blood vessels all show. My circulation is excellent. I bleed easily also because of the preds which is why I can not have surgery.

The injury started bleeding again a short while ago. It is bandaged now though.

This is the injury after the bleeding stopped.

Under normal circumstances it would be nothing.

The strapping and tissue was a bit like any port in a storm.

It was a bit of a had to be there thing I suppose.

Another injury of the same size had to be cauterized to stop the bleeding. Stitching would only tear it more.

What's your prednisone dosage?  I've been on 10mg for the last 26 years.........

Yep, been there, i uasally go with masking tape but it's the same principal. I put a giant staple through my thumb working the caps table and was shocked at how painless it was, least until they took it out at the hospital, then it hurt, about 5 minutes later the numb shot took affect. Found out just how squmish my supervisor was.

boss- "what are you looking for"

me- "something to pull this out of my thumb"

boss- "no, i'll find someone to take you to the hospital"

me- "fine, long as i'm still on the clock" lol

He did not want to see it ! at all.
