It's very difficult to make a comment on this situation other than >>> Julian Assange was stupid to do things the way he did; Swedish authorities were stupid to do what they did; the women who accused Julian Assange were stupid to bring what looked like false charges against him; the English government were stupid to get involved the way they did; the Ecuadorian Government was stupid to get their embassy involved; and most importantly, the American government were and are stupid to do things the way they do in terms of what and how they manage their internal affairs.
Stupid seems to be the operative word to describe it all ...

and govts are stupid to think war crimes wont be exposed by someone now we live in the age of the internet.
sure they can arrest whistleblowers and jail the messengers, but the truth will get out.
i really hope it never ends, that good will win over evil, whoever the evil is.
if my govt does something wrong i want to know about it just as much as when they do something right and good.

I can't argue with that David.
I agree with you overall, however, I do think that there are ways to keep Governments on the straight and narrow by being incredibly careful about how, when and where to expose corruption and fraud on the part of those who have the power to get away with it and will come after you with that power.
Whistle blowers are the bravest of the brave, but not always able to intelligently go about protecting themselves. Protection is the first thing to consider, in my opinion.
