Just saw this.

Does anyone have a tattoo they regret? And why?

yes, someone obviously did and I am sure she was happy with herself, she was smiling at the aghast looks from rude people. I smiled at her.

My sister is in the process of having some tattoos removed. I think we're up to about the 6th or 7th visit over 2 years and so far in excess of $1500. They are just the visible ones, I dont think she'll go back and get the rest done although she'd like to, its too expensive and too painful.

My husabnd has many tattoos, i dont have any. His tattooist thinks there will be many people, mostly women, suffering depression in years to come from poorly chosen, bad tattoos. He refuses a lot of clients and wont do hands or necks.

! know at least one person with a rather large tattoo across her chest that has been incorrectly spelt, I dont even know if she knows its spelt wrong. Wonder if she'll be dispappointed when she figures it out?

Sometimes you just have to think "She's someone's child;  she's someone's child; she's...."

For the life of me, I can see no benefit in defacing perfectly good clean skin with indelible graffiti, and paying someone to do it.

If it is a social statement then i miss the message it conveys :0

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

brighton, just a word of warning, I found it extremely painful, the closer to the bone, the more painful. Black goes further in (if that makes sense) so is more painful. Two small tattoos soon put paid to my plan of becoming the illustrated woman.Woman LOL

Protect it from the sun as well, as the sun will fade it quicker.

Don't worry about what other people may or may not say, it's nobody's business but yours.

Mine is only small, quite old (28yrs) and I rarely think about it. A boss asked me once if I thought I would worry about having it when I am in my 70's - my reply was - If that is what I am worrying about if I reach 70 then I'll be laughing.

Woman LOL

A friend just had a massive one done on his chest in black. He said it was a couple of hours of complete agony, and what you say about it being close to the bone being even more painful.

One hundred years ago people used to pay to see the tattooed lady in sideshow alley now we get to see then for free everywhere.

I don't have any and won't be getting any.

I'm glad I never had tattoos now that i have skin cancer and I wouldn't have one unless it was done under a general anaesthetic but the public hospital system doesn't provide facilities for those wishing to have a tattoo.

What happens with weight gain and weight loss?

What about surgery in the future messing up the tattoo?

I did think of having a big balloon tattooed on my stomach so that I could watch it inflate and deflate with my yoyo dieting but, alas, the stomach is huge and the pain tolerance is very low.

Hi Bump

I have thought about all those things...surgery, skin elasticity etc.

Read an article where a famous tattoo artist said he tries to discourage young ladies from tattooing their bust because of gravity.

My sister had a very small melanoma removed from the top of her arm but the scar is huge and uneven and had she a tattoo there it would have looked so silly after the surgery.

My father had 2 huge pits from surgery on his back where he had melanomas removed and one of them had to have a second operation and it was not a pretty scar but it was life saving so no one cared how it looked, again his back would have looked silly if he had tattoos.
