I love Aldi too. I buy mostly everything from there and have bought electrical goods with no problems, though never white goods. There is no problem with refunds. I must look suss as I've had my bags checked a couple of times, but no my
handbag. I think I would refuse with the handbag as I've done in the past by saying that it contains private and personal stuff.

It is not legal for shops to look in a personal hand bag. Even a policeman has to have a solid reason to do this.

I do a fortnightly shop for basic like canned goods, cleaning products and soft drinks.
I don't like their fruit and vege because a) they're not always fresh at my local Aldi and b) I find them overpackaged.
Any incidentals I need, I go to the Coles across the road in my lunch break.

Aldi here in Melbourne where I shop, their fruit and veg is always fresh, I wouldnt buy it, if it wasnt, and I am very fussy when it comes to those two items.

I love Aldi.. Some of their products I don't buy but their snack foods are a lot cheaper and taste the same.
The only problem I have with Aldi is I always spend too much money when I go in there!

they have horse meat instead of beef.
That was only found in their "ready meals" as in meals that you cook in the microwave not the beef products in the fridge

However, the few times I have shopped there, no staff were checking any customers bags. Perhaps it depends on the local area the store is situated in, whether they do that or not?
I"ve been asked to show my bag at Aldi, only at the checkout though; they don't have people checking your bag as you exit the store, the whole point of them having stuff still in their boxes on the shelves was to avoid having to pay extra staff to stock the shelves, I doubt they would employ someone specifically to check bags

I just saw that. I dont actually remember hearing anthing about this so searched for some info:
THE environment secretary is due to meet the Food Standards Agency, food suppliers and retailers on Saturday to discuss the horsemeat scandal after Aldi became the latest supermarket to confirm its withdrawn beef products contained up to 100% horsemeat.
What other supermarkets were involved?
