Why would you even call a motor vehice "Cactus"?
It's not bad but I wouldn't choose it:
It's very clunky and the tranmission is slow. Not nice-looking, either, IMO
It was our Hertz hire-car while we travelled in Germany. Brickbats to Hertz. They didn't give us a GPS. They call it a "Navi" in Germany. We didn't get one. God it was hard having to travel by looking at the map after we'd been spoiled in England with a GPS.
In England we had a Vauxhall Insignia:
It was a joy to drive. Somehow I magically became the designated driver on all the bookings . Hubs was able to sit and enjoy the view. Oh well. He did pay for it after all, lol.
Anyways. The Vauxhall had a huge boot to accommodate our cases, and the girl at the counter upsold us to the GPS . God how does anyone drive without a GPS!
Ok. So back to reality and Sydney traffic in my Ford Focus.
It's cool!

Well, Icy, at least you can say you have driven a CACTUS. Not many people in Australia can match that. A lot of people drive Lemons.
Another memory of your holiday.

Re the GPS, when we picked up our hire car in Ireland they tried to upsell to include a portable GPS. We declined, but then found the car had an inbuilt one anyway. I would have been furious if we had paid the extra and wound up with two of the suckers.
Hi Lurks,
Yeah the hire care co in London offered us a portable GPS but hubs said he'd rather an inbuilt one as the portable ones often get pinched. So they upgraded us to the car with the inbuilt one.
It had a lovely female voice, so patient.
We called her Gloria.
She could be a bit narky sometimes.

Is there are purpose for the panels on the sides?
It looks rather strange from the outside. Was it comfy?

The panelling on ours was black so it didn't stand out so much as the silver in the pic. Parking is at a premium in European cities so I suppose it's good against scratches from people opening doors on your panels.
The car was comfy enough I suppose, the heated seats are nice, but most new cars have that now, I think. The handbrake is a like a sledgehammer.
The gap between the two front seats is too small to pass anything (like a handbag) through to the back seat.
First world problems, lol.
