Thanks for replying.  So in short you are OK with pretty much anything as long as the "authorities" aren't enforcing it.  You seem to be the classic anti-authoritarian.

I understand your distinction between potentially hurting others as opposed to just affecting yourself, but things like helmet laws are not just there to protect you - there's a whole lot of knock-on effects.

I think you would struggle in Australia where you have to wear a helmet on a bicycle or a motorbike, wear a seatbelt, not smoke when there are kids in the car, can't carry a weapon etc. etc.

I wonder how you stand on childhood vaccinations, but I guess that's going a bit off-topic.

Please, please don't go there...as you will see if you have a look for a thread from a few weeks ago, joanie considers vaccination as tantamount to rape...and being vaccinated as a child without consent could drive said child to suicide in later life.

Your right, i'm agreeing with you, The feds, local police and sheriffs, as well as UN troops will do just that... ,, they already have done that with some people, they did it durring the Katrina disaster, using it as the excuse.,, But the fondlers as you put it won't attempt to stop them, they will be taken by surprize and have no time to react. The corrupt police will be using xray devices that can see through the walls of homes. They will find hidden gun safes, cuddy holes in the walls, hidden passages, ect..

If you don't want to have a gun, or to have a gun in your own household, thats fine, i support that. What i don't support is you telling others, your neighbors, the people in the next town or state what they can and can't have.

And yet, I'll bet you would just LOVE to see other people telling gays what they can and can't do, or those who choose abortion.

To all you wonderful Australians, I want you to know that, as an American, I'm embarrassed by Joanie. In my opinion, she is almost a caricature of much of what is wrong with American culture these days.

Thank you Australians, for keeping rational thought, common sense, and for recognizing far-right, crazy American Christian insanity for what it is.
