Abbott's debt tax
The socialist greens opposing a tax on the rich..... Well I never, is there a blue moon or they been smoking something
Senator Milne has angered colleagues by saying she, would oppose the policy.
Her position undermines a core belief of the Greens, which is to redistribute income from the wealthy to the poor. The federal Greens are set to debate the issue early this week
Senator Milne's been out since day one saying she doesn't support [the tax], despite the fact it is Greens party policy," a source said.
"Her response hasn't gone down well with a number of key people in the party and the membership.
"She's now trying to work out what to do as she is set to be rolled in party room on it

My mum used to say "I'll do time over you" when I was very naughty and rebellious.
Every time I see the poisonous Milne on TV spreading her unique twisted logic and lies I rememer that saying.

This is old news.
Christine Milne gave a rational reason for her decision, and gained the support of the Greens.
In a nutshell.......why should taxpayers, pensioner, health system pay for a perceived shortfall in the budget.
She objects to the TEMPORARY LEVY on the high tax payer, claims that it should be a permanent increase in tax.
And any shortfall should/would be covered by the nations biggest polluters.

She was on ABC24 today explaining her objection. She's not against a higher tax for the wealthy and is against creating a false budget emergency to justify any tax levy.

Dontcha love how the entire context of the article is changed to suit neros agenda?
The article specifically mentions and quotes Milne saying that she doesn't support the tax because she feels that their should be permanent strategic measures put in place for long term revenue generation. That is why she opposes a temporary tax that generates very little in the big scheme of things.
Her exact words to explain her opposition: “Long term structural adjustment is what is necessary. Come up with a marginal tax rate [increase] that’s permanent and that’s a different thing.”
And that from the same article too.
