Lyndel I do understand where you are coming from. Hubby and I know we shall have to move soon. I cannot get any help with him. ACAT knocked us back because he is not old enough, and his disability pension is for his back, not his liver. The council won't even give us cheap lawn mowing because we are not old, desperate enough. So, we shall be doing this on our own, so much for social services, what a joke.

We have been looking at some units in the paper, next step is going to a couple of open houses, see what we can afford.

Lyndel keep nagging at Vic, see if you can get him to look at something else, you never know what will happen.

Many councils have handyman services for disadvantaged ratepayers regardless of age, does yours have anything like that you can access? what about the church groups?

hehehe 69 you do kind of wonder who is left & I know it was kinda of corny but I did watch it.Some of those 3 part mini crime series on auntie have been great too,I can`t think of the name but the show was like bones but much better....does anyone know the name?

was it "Raising the Dead"? That was a top show, I never dozed off in that lol.

I used to watch Bones but it all got a bit corny after a while. Not real fussed on Kathy Reichs books.

69 yes those 3 abc series were excellent especially silent witness & that was the one similiar to bones but much better imo.
As Hawkie mentioned you should be able to get some kind of help from your council.I know mum gets some assistence and her postie does some lawnmowing and cleanup jobs for her and some of the neighbours too(he`s on a good wicket I reckon:-))
Like you ladies I am wondering what`s going to happen downtrack with us,it`s not something I am looking forward too:-(

Thanks for the links Hawk, I have tried our council, they refused us because we are not "frail aged" or, apparently, "disabled enough" to qualify. I know our town is fairly small, but, fair dinkum I was spitting chips, all these years you pay your rates, when you need something, they don't want to know you.

Just returned from shopping, had a wonderful time, bought a fabulous jacket from Rivers (just love that shop). Some really fantastic black towels...plus black & white bathmat, handtowel & washers to match, black & white together look just soooo great in an all white bathroom.

icy, the Series was called 'Waking the Dead' and, yes it was one of my favourite, just wish they'd produce some more episodes...also like "New Tricks' with Dennis Waterman.

Sun is shining up here in Gympie but it's still a bit nippy.
