actually I had a bad scare last night. Went to the doc's for a prescription for my migraine I get from time to time.
As a matter of routine he took my blood pressure and it's VERY HIGH! 153 over 98. DAMN and I thought I was bullet proof.

He gave me a script for BP medication but I will try and get it down naturally with diet, exercise and cutting out the glasses of vino of an evening. 😞

😮 Icy:-x, please take the medication too. Then look at the diet and general life style. Are you stressed out about something?

No I'm a fairly placid sort of person really.

He said it's symptom of not getting any younger (nice way of putting it lol) walls of the veins getting thinner hardening of the arteries etc.

Bleeding into the brain, strokes, alzheimers could be the result.

Bit depressing, really.

Icy, how long has your blood pressure been up that high? Did your doctor suggest a 24 hour monitoring unit to see how your BP went during a normal day. I was and then after that result my doctor prescribed 'Micardis Plus'.

The reason my doctor did the 24 hour monitoring is because of a rather common syndrome call 'White Coat'. In brief terms, this is when your BP goes up because you're in a doctors office. It also monitored my sleeping hours.

don't really know, but probably a few months. I have to take small doses (half tablet) of the meds and go back after a month.

I understand about the White Coat sydrome, it's happened to me 🙂

Seriously though, I only was put on the BP meds (12.5mg) in the last two weeks and I am finding there's still slight dizziness, but it's early days yet.
