The Perfect Pet

ive just rung GAP again, i saw a boy greyhound on the GAP website a few minutes ago that could go to a home with a cat.

name CASH

but unfortunately he requires a medium to large dog companion Cat Sad

so i'm still waiting.

i will only adopt via GAP, as i know if anything goes wrong they will take a dog back, plus they put the dogs thru a very good program to be sure there are no problems.

when i get my greyhound he (or she) will have had time in a foster home becoming adjusted to life away from the track.

the experience i had with FOO left me in no doubt the dog i will get will be near perfect.

just the waiting is unbearable Cat Frustrated

whilst waiting i made a raised food bowl

i bought a step and added some blocks to stop the bowl sliding off.

i never had one for FOO but have seen people online talking about raising the bowl.

Very good idea David.   Most dogs find it easier to eat froma raised bowl, especially long legged dogs like greyhounds.

Our Westie found it easier although he was not that tall.

We have 3 steps up to a landing then one more step into the house.  We used to put the food bowl on the single step and he stood on the landing to eat.

Edit.....I thought you had come here to give us good news about a new furbaby.   Back to waiting it seems.

Good idea re the raised food bowl   ....   GSD's are very prone to bloat, thus we were advised to always feed them this way
