The Police Force should do regular fitness tests

So their weapons aren't a first resort.

The Police Force should do regular fitness tests

That was one situation I was thinking of and had personal experience of - including encouraging one lady to go for it.

She was damn good at some things (far better than a lot of men) - Navigation for one but she was never going to

pass SOME of the physical tests, not in a month of Sundays.

The US is finding this out at the moment, both in terms of number actually applying - LACK OF - and those that do,

not many passing.

Stephen Smith, yes, agree.

Or so they can stomp more pronounced bruses on me. It can't be easy walking around all day wearing those heavy boots, Least the boots look heavy when they are slamming down hard on me.  Looked like the cops got a good fitness workout on Kelly Thomas.

Might be preferable, to me anyhow, if they did just resort to their deadly weapons first.

.

Fun Factor : Now you have a choice in chat, factor that

God who'd want to apply for the police force? Low pay, dangerous and you get little support from the very ppl you're sworn to protect.

A most  thankless task.

I agree with Icy.

One of my grandsons is a Policeman in Qld. He graduated from Brisbane University with high honours as  Solicitor. Had a job offered from a big legal firm before he graduated. Worked as a Lawyer for three years until he got sick of the false representations and finding loopholes for big companies to get them out of court cases.

He wanted to uphold the law, not twist it for financial profit, and feel like a criminal himself, so he changed jobs and became a Policeman.

When I was in Qld. for the winter and saw the annual publication of all the Policemen and women in his district, I was amazed how many studied law and graduated as Lawyers, then joined the Police Force.

So, who woud want this low paid job if they could earn buckets full of money as Lawyers?

Decent and honest people with a concience of right and wrong.

Sure you find the bad apple in every walks of life. That does not make all people bad.

Be glad that we have Police to protect the life of innocnt people.

I have no simpathy for drug users. Nobody forces them to use, and even 10 year old children today know how dangerous drug taking is. Three days on ice? I'm surprised he was still alive.
